Ben H. is terrifying today’s business crowd with all tipping points in the red and curves so steep sliding us right into doom any minute. 7 out of 8 won’t make it they say. Will you be the one? When consequences get real? Too real. And so I keep watching the lovely man in a Hawaiian shirt with matching pants google ‘Christian perishes in walking distance’. Coping the shit out of things with all we’ve got while still working hard to save us all.
Project Description
The reality you wake up to every morning still feels completely unreal. There is a critical shortage of food and electricity in Sweden and Europe. Unpredictable extreme drought alternates with long, cold rainy periods. The fossil fuels and minerals required for various types of energy are running out.
You live in the same area where you lived before the Great Climate Change, but your life and that of your neighbours are barely recognisable. No one in your area can use their phones, computers, appliances or cars anymore, as the electricity and fuel have become too expensive. Therefore, you take turns with the limited use of electronics and the few trips you can take. You have also started farming together, but there is constant concern about whether the harvest will be enough.
Supporting each other in your small community in society has certainly led to better cohesion than ever, but life is fragile. Imbalances and injustices have already many times led to conflicts, thefts, violence and other crimes. You belong to a group in your residential area where the members met at a meeting for people who want to help each other. You still have hope for man’s ability to cooperate in times of crisis, but what you don’t know is that the world is on the brink of an even greater challenge.
Are you ready for the coming crisis?

Background
How do we proceed in dark times? How do we find our position in the face of massive problems that seem impossible to relate and at the same time affect us deeply daily? When everything is going to shit – find the strength to ideate ourselves out of the disaster? Within the collective we might find some answers, fostering skills of resilience like creativity and flexibility. Slowly coping oneself out of the corner, we find agency and an approach of hopeful pessimism. We created ‘Den Store Klimatkrisen’ – a card game distributed to schools and youth groups in Sweden to practise the needed approach to face these challenges in a rather near future.
In collaboration with Klimatpsykologernas Kata and Kali, the fabulous Ola Möller and Devi Kamara Brunson supporting with copy and the funding of Arvsfonden this game is released.
