“Who are you today?” The space blanket is sizzling, distorting the mirrored surfaces of its surrounding. “Name, Surname, Desired Occupation”. It’s simple really.
I looked up from my desk as an old wrinkled hand passes on an order form. She is famous, they say. Big career in fashion, Paris, New York. Her ‘Desired Occupation: Baker’. After pick up she slowly takes some steps towards the door looking down at the small paper square in her hand. “If I had the guts to start all over – this would be it” she whispers.
Project description
As a pop-up structure, The Fakery was designed to hack and blend into different environments, to appear and disappear in different venues, corporate and non-corporate as well as public spaces in various cities and locations.
“Who are you today?” The space blanket is sizzling, distorting the mirrored surfaces of its surrounding. “Name, Surname, Desired Occupation” all there is needed to start your next chapter.
Visitors will be invited to envision “who they always wanted to be” – a desired occupation they never got to embody. This will then be transformed into a business card: a commonly approved document that will act as manifestation and proof of this possible alternate reality. Each person will get one custom made card to potentially enable them to try and act out a desire.
